Investment in a Montenegrin passport will bring visa-free access to 137 countries and territories worldwide. This represents 39.1% of the world’s wealth measured by GDP and 66.3% of worldwide travel popularity based on international visitors. The 137 total destinations include 124 countries and 13 overseas territories. That’s 60.4% of total worldwide destinations. But this is a simple measure as it counts all destinations equally. PASSPORT INVESTMENT
Whilst geographically located in Europe, Montenegro is not yet part of the European Union, although it is striving to meet the EU requirements for accession. This is expected in 2025. The Montenegrin visa-free access would increase if EU membership is granted. Montenegro’s Citizenship by Investment programme requires a minimum investment of €350,000 upwards. Investors must make a government contribution of €100,000, plus invest into a government-approved real estate project, from a minimum of €250,000 in the northern and central region or €450,000 in the coastal region.
