The nation’s commitment to economic growth, coupled with its natural beauty, makes Chile an attractive destination for international investors seeking both financial prosperity and an enhanced global lifestyle.

CHILE CITIZENSHIP INVESTMENT

Chile does not currently offer a direct citizenship by investment programme, however, it may be possible to apply for Chilean Citizenship after continuous residency for five years, through one of the residency options below.

CHILE RESIDENCY Investment

Chile offers temporary residence permits to foreign individuals investing over $500,000 in the country. After two years, this visa can be converted to permanent residency. If the individual plans on maintaining continuous residency for five years, they become eligible for Chilean citizenship. Real estate investment is a popular route to residency and citizenship, aligning with the more structured pathways of Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment programme or in Europe that of Greece’s Golden Visa.

Individuals can also apply for an Independent Means Visa. A ‘Rentista’ or ‘Pensionado’ visa is offered to clients who can demonstrate sufficient regular income, such as rental income, dividends, salaries and pensions.

CHILE PASSPORT STRENGTH AND RANKING

Ranking 39th on La Vida’s comprehensive Global Passport Ranking, Chile possesses strong passport power and also holds the highest ranking South American passport. Although not a formal citizenship by investment programme, the Chilean passport offers visa-free access to 189 countries, accounting for 92.4% of worldwide travel and 79.4% of world wealth (measured in GDP).
