Second citizenship comes with many advantages, including visa-free travel and a ”Plan B” residency to name just a few. There are some citizenship by investment programmes that also offer university incentives. Both Antigua and Grenada are home to highly commendable universities and both countries offer tuition fee reductions for those who have invested through their citizenship by investment programmes.
Grenada is home to St Georges University, a private university renowned for its medicine, nursing and veterinary medicine degrees. The university is affiliated with many other educational institutions, including the UK, USA, Canada and Australia, attracting students and faculty members from all over the world. Grenadian citizens receive a 90% Grenada Partnership Award which means they only need to pay 10% of tuition fees for the university’s undergraduate programmes. This is a significant saving. To qualify, citizens must have resided in Grenada for one year prior to university registration. A simple gap year in Grenada before university could well qualify the student. Citizenship investments start from $150,000 for a single applicant and $200,000 for a family of four, plus fees.
Antigua’s newest donation fund means families of six members or more can gain citizenship plus a one-year free scholarship for one member of the family at the University of the West Indies. Applicants will have a five year period to utilise the scholarship which is great if your children are not yet of university age but you wish to begin the citizenship process. Dependent parents of 58 years and above can be included within the application also. The required donation starts from just $150,000 per family of six, plus costs. This is the lowest cost CBI programme available to large families in the world.
