Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment programme has seen an exponential surge of applications this year. In statistics released by Grenada’s Ministry of Finance, the latest figures show a sharp increase in the number of applications received by Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment unit in Q2 & Q3 of 2022. Between July – September 2022, the unit received a staggering 662 applicants for second citizenship, which is almost three times the amount of the same quarter in 2021. 373 of these applicants were applying via the Real Estate investment route and 89 through the Government donation route. If application numbers continue to rise in Q4, then 2022 is likely to potentially see double the applications received in 2021.
Grenada’s programme has always proven to be one of the most popular of the Caribbean Citizenship by Investment programmes, largely due to the E2-Visa treaty that it holds with the USA, meaning Grenadian citizens have the added option of applying for a US residency visa by making an additional modest business investment.
Following a minimum Government donation of $150,000, or an investment in an approved real estate project from $220,000, plus fees, investors can gain citizenship and become Grenadian passport holders within 4-6 months. Grenadian citizens benefit from visa-free access to 153 countries and territories worldwide. This represents 58.4% of the world’s wealth measured by GDP. Grenada is also one of just a few CBI countries that hold a visa-waiver agreement with China.
