Whilst visa free travel is top of the agenda for many Golden Visa investors, there are a number of other advantages to also consider. Having a second residency or citizenship also gives investors the opportunity to educate their children internationally and of course at a lower cost. Below are four options to consider which are also ideal for educating children abroad.

ireland
Gain residency in Ireland by investing €1,000,000 into an approved fund, which is refundable after 5 years. Should the investor’s children wish to attend university in Ireland, they can gain a €50,000 reduction from the investment. Ireland is home to two of the top universities in Europe, namely Trinity College and University College Dublin.
Cyprus
The Cyprus Citizenship by Investment programme grants a passport to those investing a minimum of €2,000,000 into real estate. The process takes just six months and is the fastest citizenship option in Europe. An EU passport means the holder can live or work anywhere in the EU. For children this also means they can study in any  EU university, currently including the UK.
usa
The EB-5 Programme is one of the world’s most desired investor visa options with over 50,000 approved applications since it started. By investing $500,000 into a government approved project, applicants will receive a Green Card which enables them to live, work and study in the US. The USA is home to some of the world’s most renowned universities including Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale and many more.
Antigua
Antigua recently announced a new CBI  option which has the added advantage of a one year scholarship. The scholarship will cover a whole year’s worth of tuition fees at the University of West Indies. A minimum donation of $150,000 for a family of four, plus costs is required. Citizenship of Antigua will enable the holder to travel freely to over 100 countries worldwide.
