Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment programme had its best year on record in 2021. For the fifth consecutive year, the programme saw a revenue increase with a total income of EC $282,000,000 in 2021, which was a growth of 11.5% from the previous year. There were a total of 566 applications received by the Citizenship by Investment Unit last year, a staggering 44% increase on 2020’s figures. 59% of applicants went for the real estate route with 41% opting for the government donation route. In Q4 of 2021, the CIU processed 140 applications, which is the highest number to date.

Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment programme has always proven to be a popular option for international investors, particularly due to the country’s E2-Visa treaty with the USA and its visa-free agreement with China. Grenadian passport holders gain visa-free access to 153 countries and territories worldwide which is 58.4% of the world’s GDP. Investors can either make a one-off donation of $150,000 to the country’s national development fund, plus fees, or it is possible to invest through government-approved real estate projects from $220,000, plus fees.
